Creative Painting Experiments With Q-tips

Challenge your kids to see how many different
ways they can print and paint with Q-tips!
Today's Q-tip craft is all about experimentation!



What You Need:
Q-tips (regular and/or Precision Tip)
acrylic paint
painter's tape or masking tape
wood blocks in simple shapes (optional)
card stock
plastic lids for holding paint
newspaper or similar to cover work surface



What You Do:
Prep some Q-tip blocks and bundles:

Tape Q-tips around the blocks; make sure to adjust
them so that they will touch the surface evenly.

Tape bundles of 2, 3, and 4 Q-tips together.

Put a shallow layer of paint in the lid.



This is all about experimentation, so see how many
different kinds of marks you can make with a Q-tip!

Dip your Q-tip(s) into the paint. Use the tip and
the side, roll one end around then roll both ends
at the same time; try holding multiple Q-tips
together at the same time and do it all again.

If you find a print that you like create lots of them
to make interesting patterns.
