It's time for a new Q-tip craft! I love these cheerful little flowers that are made from Q-tips and coffee filters. The basic flower that I am going to show you in this video is very easy and from there you can get creative with lots of variations to make a whole bouquet.
dyed coffee filters or tissue paper: your choice of flower color and a shade of green for the stem
thick white glue
scissors
awl or something similar to poke a hole
How To Make The Flowers:
1. Clip the end off of one Q-tip.
2. Using the side of of a green or yellow marker, color the cotton end of the Q-tip then set aside to dry.
3. Cut 6-8 1½" circles from the coffee filters in the color you want for your flower.
4. Stack the circles and poke a hole in the center of them.
5. One at a time, run the coffee filter circles up the Q-tip and squish it around the colored cotton tip; repeat for each layer squishing less as you go along.
6. Cut a skinny rectangle (about ½" wide and 2" long) from the green coffee filter.
7. Dab the stem with glue then cover it with the green rectangle.
All done!
Group several together for a bouquet, glue on a pin to make a brooch, or use them to decorate cupcakes!
