Today's giveaway is made available by Ammo Books
and two winners will each receive a set of kids' craft
books by Todd Oldham! The set includes Kid Made
Modern, All About Collage
, All About Dye
, All About
Embroidery, and All About Fabric Printing
.
All of the books are packed with colorful and creative
crafts that are inspired by mid-century designers. In
each section of the book there is a brief description of
a famous mid-century designer and then it is followed
by projects that were inspired by that designers work.
For example, Alexander Girard inspired painted wood
spoons and blocks, cardboard houses are inspired by
Luis Barragán, and Paul Rand inspires a self-stick shelf
paper wall mural. There is a nice spread of mediums
and techniques to work with too: felt, cardboard,
stitchery, jewelry, paper, paint, dye and more.
The craft I'm sharing today is an excerpt
from Kid Made Modern and is inspired by
Alexander Calder's wire sculptures.
