Hi everyone, I apologize for things being a bit quiet here
for the past
month. Although I had posts scheduled for
most of December, behind the
scenes I was occupied with
family health problems. My father had a small stroke
while he was away from home and there was a lot of
traveling, doctor appointments and an emergency room
visit before we could get back home. We finished making
all of our gifts, squeezed in Christmas, looked forward to
a new year and then everyone started getting sick. I have
found it hard to get back in the swing of posting daily but
I am doing my best so I hope you will understand.
I've never been big on resolutions, I'd rather make
changes when I feel a change needs to be made, but I
have given myself a motto for the year as a result of our
dark December, and here it is: Make the life you want
now. Not very poetic I know, but I tend to put off things
until everything is just right - I have the money, the time,
the inspiration... but then it seems like that time never
comes. So, what do I want in my life now? Well, lots of
things, but I'm going to start with a dedicated craft room.
I've decided to convert our garage to my craft space and
hopefully a place where I can teach classes too. It's a
huge job because our garage is full of "other" stuff but
I'm determined, and excited about the possibility. I also
need a good place to read - good lighting, comfortable
chair - so I am scouting out that spot as well. I have
already started working on spiffing up our downstairs
bathroom that bugs me to death and I'll have to figure
out how to build a shelf that I have designed. I'm
planning to post again regularly on Bella Dia so if you
want to keep up with me there I'd love to see you.
The Crafty Crow will be five years old in a couple of
months so I am putting a lot of thought into where I
want it to go. I have had a book on the back burner for a
couple of years now so I'm planning to spend more time
on that too. I'm also teaching a few classes for our local
college that I'm very excited about so, if you're a
local, take a look at the CSI Spring Catalog :)
The Crafty Crow received well over 2 million page views
and half a million visitors last month and that was really
exciting for me! It is always such a pleasure seeing the
amazing ideas you have and being able to share them
with everyone. I can't wait to see what you
have planned for this year!
If you've read this far I really appreciate it. I know I'm a
little
spare with the words because I figure you're here
for the crafts but your continued support means
everything to me. Maybe you have something you've
been putting off waiting for the right time? I'd love to
hear about it! Wishing you all a happy new year!
